Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer -- pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

Lately I've been talking about foundation primer a lot, or so it seems. That made me want to share with you another great foundation primer, this one by Laura Geller: her Spackle Under Makeup Primer (the original). In the past I've shared with you her Tinted Spackle in Champagne (sorry for the lack of good pics back then). I love her tinted spackles, I also have the Bronze tinted version, but the original is a classic.

Check out my pics, swatches, stats, and review...

Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer Review:
This primer is a classic and best seller because it works; it's as simple as that. Laura Geller was one of the first to come out with a primer for your skin (and if my memory serves me correct, I believe she said on QVC that she was the first to invent the category of primer - but I could be wrong with my facts)

This primer does its job really well; it makes your skin perfectly prepped for makeup, keeps your moisturizer locked in, and prolongs your makeup wear. It glides on your skin effortlessly and melts in perfectly. I love the way it feels going on and how my skin feels after applying it.

Even though I like using the tinted versions of her Spackle, I really love the original. If someone doesn't know which one to choose from her Spackles I would tell them go with the original because it works for everyone. This primer won QVC's 2011 Customer Choice Awards for best primer!

I highly recommend this primer; try it out in a smaller sized first if you're not sure how you'll like it.

Now let me know what you think...

  1. Tried it, gave me a HORRENDOUS breakout the likes of which I've never seen. I cannot put anything with silicone or any of its relatives/derivatives (cyclomethicone, dimethicone, or anything else ending in -cone [snow cone?]) on my face without dire results. Which basically means no primers for me, ever... :(

You know dimethicone is the same stuff that's in both Silly Putty and aquarium sealant? Yeah, really.

  2. @ collier: Sorry that your skin is sensitive to those ingredients. Her primers really are some of the best I've tried.

And yeah, dimethicone is in those things... but it and it's variances are also in makeup (of course, lol), contact lenses, medical devices, shampoo, and even food. The FDA clears it as a safe to use in cosmetics. But not matter what Laura puts in it, it's magic for my skin, lol.
